I was thinking about this at work today
A few months back while I was in college. Well, lets say February there was these two cashiers who works the register. They were okay with me and everything, but looked miserable. Two sistahs by the way. One day while they weren't doing anything they were just gossiping about who Rihanna was dating
That was the first time I saw them smile. I'm always the guy who just observes. Anyway, they were like Rihanna is dating Leonardo whatever his name is. Listen, I never pay attention to celebs. When they said that it was the first time I said, "now I see why some can't reach their potential". One of those chicks I wanted to befriend to comfort her. Let me tell you a small story. I swear to god this is true. Ya boy was different as a kid. On the weekends I would ask my father to take me to the projects. Because I always lived a middleclass/working class life. He did every weekend and I saw some of my people live in shambles. At first he asked why you wanna go out there. Then, he told me you need to see it, so you can make a better life for yourself when you grow up. I will say this, I was lucky to come from a two parent household. Point is, if you want to progress and reach your potential you gotta focus from within
You will NEVER get anywhere feeling sorry for yourself and worrying about others. I had to learn the hard way.
For my coli brethern who's in their mid to late 20's share your story hell whatever age you are.
