My pops is using me to stay home for thanksgiving

This man just doesn't give a damn

So I'm active duty military, but also go to school on scholarship. During school breaks we're supposed to work 9-5 in the office unless we take leave.

My dad tells me "Yea, tell your mother your leave request got denied. Soo we'll just stay in state and have thanksgiving at home this year"

He doesn't want to either drive or fly to DC.

To make it worse he's out of town for a week on "business" for his job. Called him at 11am and he sounded like he was in the bedCalled him at 8pm and he STILL sounded like he was in the bed

Pops is just out here having fun, collecting checks

And sometimes, you gotta let people go.
Meaning, if you're uncomfortable with trying to fulfill Pop's scheme, say so.

I'm not trippen about goin back to DC for thanksgiving. We were up there twice in September.

To be honest I didn't want to go, just wanna chill out at home with my immediate fam. And all my extended fam is coming down here in May when I graduate.
