Well, for those who don't know I used to be socially awkward. Meaning, I would get nervous speaking to people or couldn't look them in the face. However, over the past two years its improved. Now, I can hold down a convo with people. As a child, I was diagnosed with borderline Asperger's. The doctor said mines could disappear and it did. Anyway, I'm proud of myself and I will continue being me. For now on I'll just share my thoughts (non controversial) from my point of view.

If anyone is dealing with social anxiety you can always hit me up for support.

Your father never told you to always look people in the eyes?

Well...

How did you do it breh?
Working my first job with racist rednecks. Had an argument with one and defended myself (I don't curse that much) and ever since had confidence. All I can say is be you. Also, learn to adapt and become a part of the discussion.

That's good Joe. What steps did u make to become more comfortable with urself and more competent socially?
Just using small talk and it progressed from there. Also, I discussed issues relevant to what was going on with what they or I were doing.

The doctor diagnosed you with a developmental disorder and told you it would disappear?

Yes. This was in the 90's when I was diagnosed. However, it could have been something else, but the doctor did say I would outgrow it as I got older. I mainly struggle with depression, but was never formally diagnosed with it. Although I had it documented that I show symptoms of it.
