MacOS is totally foreign to me, even tho we both have ipads and iphones and what not. but I'm trying to get this macbook air poppin somewhat. I wanna be able to remote into my windows machines and I'm buying MS-Office for $10 thru my job.

I just updated the MacOS to yosemite I believe.

I'm kinda confused as the difference between apps and programs. am I supposed to download apps via the app store, or do I download programs directly from the internet? for instance, there's a remote desktop for mac client offered from microsoft. but another one in the app store. but they are different things it seems.

also, with multi gestures. I kinda understand that, cuz its similar to the multi gestures on ipad, but how do I do simple things like get a command prompt? If I set this up using my information, will my imessage pop up on my computer screen??? I definitely don't want that shyt happening :whoa:

is there a mac equivalent of "my computer" ?

do I put icons on the desktop?

I'm over here feeling like a straight dummy on this thing.

I have a macbook; bruh you sound like my mom with these computer questions. Really you just need to keep your os up to date to stay virus free. But I do have avast for mac and ccleaner to get rid of junk files.

There is no task manager for mac; so if you want to kill a frozen program you press cmd+opt+esc

I also think you do not have to buy the software again; just setup your same account just like in your iPhone to your macbook.
The mac equivalent for my computer is finder. and command prompt is command line in mac.http://m.wikihow.com/Get-to-the-Command-Line-on-a-Mac .

I'm at work right now if I was at home I could help more
