Former kickboxer turned stuntman and filmmaker David Ismalone returns with a brand new film to highlight the skills of friend and fellow stuntman and martial artist Don Ferguson.
Ferguson, a taekwondo expert who became a stuntman in Thailand (he can be seen in 2003′s ONG-BAK) takes the lead in MYSTIC BLADE, an upcoming revenge thriller that features Ismalone, his wife Julaluck Ismalone, NINJA 2 fight choreographer Tim Man, BANGKOK ADRENALINE co-star Conan Stevens, and NINJA 2 co-star Jawed El Berni. The film introduced Ferguson’s real-life son Ronny as his on-screen son.
Ferguson plays Sam, a one-time hitman for the Shadow Syndicate. After leaving the group due to refusal to take a job, he meets a Thai woman named Mali (Julaluck Ismalone) and begins a new life. However, when his past catches up to him, Sam and Mali are left for dead until their son Shiro’s cries brings Sam back to life. Determined to seek revenge, Sam forges a sword made from Mali’s ashes. Now armed with his new “mystic blade”, Sam and Shiro embark to find those responsible for Mali’s death.
David Ismalone returns to the director’s chair after working on the 2009 biopic AUKMEN, which was released in the U.S. as DOWN FOR THE COUNT. Indican Pictures plan to release MYSTIC BLADE in October.
