I don't even believe in the "clear, crisp" sound of technology these days. That wasn't exactly the goal anyways. Only now do you hear people talking about how something was mixed lol... that's like a new thing...

It's all about the engineers nowadays. Because these beats all sound alike, down to the hit hats, so an engineer who can make a song sound less repetitive and fresh is a godsend.

Production is definitely NOT better than it's ever been. That's a hilarious lie. Only the swaggerless think that mixing and tech makes a beat great. It's about the funk, emotion and imagination behind it. And most of these beats aint imaginative. period.
