Interesting

I know what you mean tho
Yea, idk how to describe it...the BPM, I guess. I think Tribe with Low End Theory, and Dre on N4L and later on The Chronic were the first instances I can remember of beats slowing down (as far as BPM) and being more deliberate. The Chronic really set it off, and to me is one of the biggest "before and after" moments in hip-hop, along with Rakim modernizing flows and BIG/Pac's deaths.

Production still is really dope on N4L, but The Chronic was like another big bang happening. Nothing was the same after that.

Music heads know

It’s elements of the 80’s

They’re here and there but you can tell the production was reaching into the future because even now it still sounds so far beyond 1991

44 bricks...acre shaker
The production is dope but it's still has some of that early 90s/late 80s fast paced-ness to it, that the Chronic pretty much ushered out for good.
imo dre got all the bomb squad out of his system...he was still tinkering and tryin 2 find himself on no one can do it better..atl came in the picture...saw what hutch was doin.....100 miles he got it out of his system..

nikkaz 4 life its like he perfected it ... it carried over to death row ...chronic he rode that wave...until sam sneed came around n start a new sound

Their best album IMO,, the production on here is FLAWLESS! This is when Dre came in to his own IMO, his coming out party before Death Row run. Ren was also at his peak on this one IMO and without Cube he needed to be but they pulled it off.
