N word in public with CAC's

Went out this past weekend with a group of people. Some CAC's and Asian were part of this group and another black person. Half way through our convo with the group the black dude throws in the N word. Shyt caught me off guard. Anyone find it odd to casually say the n word around mixed company?

I was bouta say that's normal where i live, but it's always groups that know each other. Talking like that around people you don't know is kinda weird. I also don't think it's a big deal if the person grew up in the hood. Chances are it's part of their daily vocabulary.

Breh has been talked to multiple times about it, good guy good worker but cringeworthy habit. I don't want to be associated with usage of that word, especially at work
