I am presently watching cnn and they were on the phone with I guess a spokesperson from the naacp and one of the analyst made the point of sterling being openly racist and the naacp overlooking it all and still giving him the award due to his donations. What really annoyed me was the fact that the spokesperson for the naacp defended it by saying naacp fundraising and naacp advocacy should be kept separate.:snoop:

That comment then made me look back to the state of my beloved continent Africa. It seems this trend of taking wealth from the enemy to finance your own ambition is not an isolated incidence when concerning the naacp and sterling. In a country like nigeria for example the only way an aspiring politician can get into politics presently is with the aid of the old corrupt power in nigeria. What happens is that when they do get into power, regardless of their noble intentions they cannot make any significant impact because the old adage of "dont bite the hand that feeds you" applies to them.
In fact you can take a step back and even look at this in the way african countries relate with the world. There is a troubling pattern of african leaders accepting aid, or so called stringed investments from western countries and china and choosing to overlook the horrible things they do to the environment and inhabitants of said country. This is why many african countries dont have a voice. They all fear biting the hand that feeds them. This same situation plays itself across the whole black diaspora.

So at the end of the day you have leaders without the will and desire to make the hard and tough choices and get things done due to fears of pissing of your backers. This at the end of the day breeds complacency in black leadership and such things as corruption and absence of loyalty begins to set in. We really need to end this cycle. We need black leaders in the diaspora and on the continent who possess conviction and are not willing to dine with the enemy to achieve their ambitions. (MUCH EASIER SAID THAN DONE OF COURSE)

In regards to the naacp, sadly I suspect sterling is not the only racist individual they overlook because of his donation. I am sure there are other racists out there who donate to the naacp in hopes they turn a blind eye to their racist actions.

just my 2 cents:yeshrug:

Brehs, how much can we really trust the NAACP?

Isn't it time for black folk to audit them?

I'm tired of hearin' them speaking on our behalf and not seeing a lot of year to year progress?

What are they doin', for us, really? I don't wanna hear any conspiracy about Jewish people, either. Antisemitism ain't helpin' black people.
