Name a better Year in Movies than 1999 (you can't)

Had this debate with the family on Christmas.

I think 1999 was the best year in movies hands down. So many unique, innovative and classic movies across all genres. Some of the great movies I didn't see at the time I came back years later and loved

2002 and 2007 get mentioned alot and had some great movies. I just don't think they are as strong though

Here are my personal top 10 and some honorable mentions. (I know I left off some good ones)

1993 was the best year for releases. Menace To Society was released that year, so by default 1993 is the greatest year for films and can never be topped.

2007 has the combo of No Country for Old Men and there will be blood which are great. But outside of that there isn't too much

2008 got some heat with The Dark Knight, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, Iron Man, Wall-E, Hancock... I'd say it might be 2nd

‘99 also gave us 2 of my all-time favorite comedies....”Idle Hands” and “Detroit Rock City” Not to mention, we also got “Blue Streak”, “Varsity Blues”, “Stir of Echoes”, “Big Daddy” and “Go”. So yeah, ‘99 is damn hard to beat
