Name a rapper you actually like, past or present, but that you think is overrated

This isn't for rappers you're not a fan of, this is about rappers that you actually fukk with, listen to their music, etc. but you think other people overrate how good they are/their music is

Example, I love Big L. Amazing skill set. However, any time I see him in a top 5 list I cringe. His output was limited at best, only put out one full album when he was alive, and it's barely 4 mics. Big L is a top 50 rapper ever, I can even see top 35-40 just because of his skill level but anything higher than that is a major reach.

lil Wayne, and I’m talking at his peak Carter 2 days, he was dope but also overrated like fukk.
Hearing people actually call him the best rapper alive was cringey as fukk.

Nah. The beats were super dated when it dropped. The album was recorded in 1992-1993 and didn't drop until 1995. The music and beats changed a lot by then and you could tell. I like the album a lot, but it's not a classic by any means.

Jadakiss. One of the greatest rappers ever, legendary verses, etc. But his albums are mediocre as shyt. He's in my top 20 all-time because of the Lox work, freestyles, mixtapes over the last 25 years. But in NY a lot of people have him top 5 all-time and that's crazy considering he doesn't even have a 4 mic solo album.

Lupe Fiasco

Incredible lyricist at times, but holy shyt, nikkas overrate that guy. His music for starters just isn't nearly as good as a lot of his fans act like it is (again, imo). Secondly I feel like he can convoluted with his lyricism and people will force meaning to lines that just isn't there. Lupe has built this sensei like aura around him, that people are looking for deeper meaning in every single line, and it's unbearable. It's to the point he can say "Cat in the hat is black when it's dark" and nikkas will write a 5 paragraph dissertation explaining the meaning behind the line.

The man can rhyme his ass off, but he's at his best when he has someone to bounce off of (Malik B, Dice Raw, etc). When he's by himself, the songs tend to all bleed together into the same "real hiphop" mold. His solo album never dropping was a blessing in disguise lowkey because part of what it was going to be turned into Phrenology and people weren't too hot on that one. and i'll just go ahead a and say it, The Roots haven't made an album I've fukked with since Game Theory in 06 and a revisit to that wasn't kind.
