K.R.I.T has consistently been the silent killer of the 2010s. Rappers get hype, a few hits, and fall off while K.R.I.T. has been steadily moving along.
He's 4/4 with mixtapes. IMO, it would be an insult to call them mixtapes because he puts out a diverse original piece of art with each release.
He's 0.5/1 with retail releases. Really, LFTU wasn't a weak debut more so than it wasn't a progression from his previous releases.
However, he recuperated nicely with K.R.I.T, the most complete mixtape of 2013 imo, and got his hype back recently with the Week of K.R.I.T and Mt. Olympus. His second verse on that joint is a serious early candidate for VOTY.
All signs point towards a strong release in Cadillactica, and his willingness to venture outside of his camp for production is a telling sign that he's ready to progress.
Brehs, what do you think?
