Name this early 80's / late 70's movie

Okay brehs, need some help - searched everywhere for this and now I'm coming to the film room to see if any old heads or new jacks might remember this movie.

1. I doubt it was a huge successful movie, since I've never seen it again.
2. early 80s / 70s - i saw this as a kid.
3. the movie premise, was a bunch of thieves or mercenaries were sent to some sort of temple to steal a jewel/ruby. The temple was booby trapped and here are some of things I remember.

a) they were all roping in from the ceiling, almost like mission impossible.
b) i believe there were lasers or something, which is why they had to rope in from above
c) there were all types of booby traps
d) one booby trap was a needle that stuck one of the guys and poisoned/mutated him
e) another booby trap was when one of the guys got to the jewel a snake came up and bit him square in the forehead.

f) i believe everyone dies

g) for some reason I remember the "last noel" being sung at the end - but that could just be incorrect

This has been driving me crazy for years. I remember my parents watching a movie on HBO back in the early 80s and I would like to watch it again. The only details I remember are a group of people trying to rob a cult's temple, that is booby trapped with all kinds of weird devices. I seem to remember something about one of the thieves getting stuck with a needle that caused him to mutate?

thanks Breh, it might be that as a kid I just remembered this differently cuz i saw that yesterday and i said that looks like crap and what i remember as a kid was more hi-def but i think you're right...this is the movie

Did you watch it in 3-D as a kid? Maybe that's why.

nah, definitely was on a regular tv - but you know how everything looks ifferent when you're young
