As we prepare to Enter the playoffs make your case for your award winners because I believe these should be regular season awards and whats dont in playoff series shouldnt matter for regular season awards.

My picks:

  1. George Karl -NUGGETS: To overcome Cancer and lead this young of a team with no stars through a 50+ win season including an 18 game win streak is no small feat. No doubt in my mind he wins it.
  2. Mike Woodson - KNICKS - Though I hate the fukkin' Knicks I have to admit i didnt think these fools would win 50 games with all these blue hairs on their roster. I always thought Woodson got screwed out of Atlanta. A Larry Brown disciple out of the Pistons system. He got as much out of the talent in ATL as anyone could.
  3. Eric Freakin Spoelstra -HEATles: THe man dates one of the Heat cheerleaders, brought you position-less basketball, and has to put up with

Honorable mentions:

  • Thibodeau - Bulls: No Rose, no problem.
  • Popovich - Spurs : As always
  • Whoever coaches the Grizzlies

its Mark Jackson. When is the last time GS was relevant and in the playoffs? That year they beat the Mavericks, GS was a 8 seed. Mark got these guys competitive and fight for a 5/6 seed in the west.

If thats all it took then Woodson and the Clippers coach would have won it last year and the year before respectively. And it's not like the Warriors dont have good players on their roster

  • Curry should/could have been an all star
  • Lee is a quality big man. As close to being a 20/10 as anyone in the league right now
  • Give Bogut a year to fully recover and He'll be serviceable if not a good contributor again

Maybe YOU had the expectations set so low that Marck jackson overwhelmingly exceeded them but it's not like he's performing miracles out there :rudy:

Good job tho

Just because Karl overcame Cancer doesn't mean he should get coach of the year either. That team more loaded than the warriors. AI is an allstar/olympian, Farid/Lawson are rising stars and they have great pieces around them with Andre Miller, McGee, Gallinari & Chandler. They won't give to Spoelstra just because of the big 3 and Woodson has not done that great of a job. Jackson has had to deal with Curry's ankle, don't know why you brought up Bogut, he hasn't played at all this year until recently. Thompson is up and coming and Dave Lee is having his best season...

Yeah but George Karl has them in the top 3 seeds in the West. No small feat at all. Looking at both the Nuggets and Warriors roster:

  • If i told you at the beginning of the year that the Nuggets would win 50+ game and be a top 3 seed you would have called me crazy like :duck:
  • If i told you that Warriors would make it to the playoffs with their roster most of you would be like " I could see it hapenning" :ehh:

Nope, looks at Denver's last 9 seasons, nothing new, they always win 50 games and don't give me that was Melo. They got a whole team back for Melo. GS had Curry, Ellis etc for 3 or 4 years and nobody expected them to make the playoffs...

He always does this though. Its always been Lakers/Spurs on top then Denver at 3 or 4 with 50 wins. Nothing new. Win a couple of rounds in the playoffs for a change...

  1. This has nothing to do with playoffs
  2. Just because he' s done it before doesnt make it any less of an accomplishment

Let's face it: Most expected the top 4 seeds in the West be (in no particular order) like

  1. OKC
  2. LAC
  3. LAL
  4. SA
  5. and then the rest

Sports Illustrated had Denver 4th behind OKC, LAL, SA. LAC was 5th. GS 11th. Bleacher Report had GS 10th place, Denver 6th...
