That's why it needs to be a woman of color and/a mother as it can be a learning lesson to other women about the struggles of mental health and coming back into the work force after having a child and needing to walk away to get yourself together. Use that as a guise to call it out because we're literally at the point of her having a complete mental health breakdown on camera in front of the world to see.

If I was an opponent, I'd want no part of playing against her because of she could potentially react to the loss.

If she was simply an attorney, doctor, or any other successful (non-athletic) professional she'd be fine post-pregnancy on average. But it looks like returning to tennis post pregnancy is something that is very hard physically and may be impossible to do on a high level.

Also hard to discuss without discussing the way a certain type of professional woman has decided that casually having a child without a spouse is in vogue. Messing around with a rapper fukk boy and playing house, on top of the stress of her job...she needed to be way more thoughtful about her choice in partner. And because she wasn't she may have ruined her career. I'm not saying having a husband (or wife) would solve this for her but she needed a real partner to share that load, support, raise the child etc.

I know a (white) pediatrician who is about to have a child out of wedlock, no spouse or partner. Just insane decision making and it keeps happening.

This is normal after this type of defeat in tennis.

For any naysayers who are not actualized in tennis.

Tennis is not your chump coddled team sport.

Tennis is the hardest sport.
There is no coach during a change over.
There is no support from your own family in the crowd.

If you are black.
tennis is taught in certain sides of the city of chicago. With knowledge of understanding.
it is rich and racist. verse yo p'oh black ass and you have to have.
the emotional maturity to overcome at an age. Where that is a lot to ask.
of a child literally isolated and alone. Plus over isolated and stimulated. That you may never get a chance to see things while fully immersed. You gotta keep your head down. As you can not look to the crowd being black.
As 'dey' will disqualify you. If you mounted a comeback and have the win rescinded.
On the grounds that you sought help.
from the stands and received coaching mid match.
A rabid racist environment that never really feels safe. So you could become what if monica seles was black. Whether you were black male or black female.

Plus a litany of bible text level unsaid violations. That could be a detriment to your success. That are racist driven.
Plus could rest on your brain. With no help under duress to combat.

No actualized black sports medicine.
or black psychological help that can relate. To give you tools to succeed.
being black in tennis male or female. No rubrick for success being black. No brain trust of success being black.

I could add on.

Yet the people giving harsh critique. Are not actualized in general to offer any critique. Plus have no filter or understanding.
As well as no high level consistent black coaching. Who have been in similar positions.
As there is no us black born player champion to consult. There is no arthur ashe to seek for consultation.
To ask. Well how did you, mr ashe mentally get conners to check out at wimbledon. Plus technology eliminating the rubrick to how ashe won as well. Which even if ashe was alive. Would lack the braintrust given the change in technology.

Ras : you are alone

So she is alone.

yet has no connection to any soul brother or a rasta. To even know this principle.
Past yannick noah. Where it could be a disconnect in being american to a euro.
Plus a possible language barrier or gap. That could illustrate in verbiage how to succeed as well.

All the other players that are white in tennis. Have hordes of advancements and resources.
Plus a game designed to purposefully be racist and demonstrative to poor people.

sohh. Just root this sister on black community.

Stop the cap.
As none of you have beat any odds.
similar to her.
to offer proper critique. As well as actualized proven solutions. Only person who has any brain trust.
to help this lady is yannick noah.
Against the entire totality of the sport of tennis.

Being on that tennis court under duress. Is mental pain and pressure. That no other athlete has to endure in another pro sport. So show some grace. To learn what she is up against and provide this lady. Some support black community.

She really has done the hardest thing.
being black to compete in a white world. Regardless off the vemue or skill discipline.

She is literally alone on an island. The keast we can do as a black community. Is try to get her aid off the island.
Plus show her. She has support from afar. While being deserted and alone on that island.

At some point, the media is going to have to stop treating the situation with kid gloves and calling it out for what it is as it's creating an awkward and uncomfortable situation for everyone involved.

What are you talking about? She needs help, not sharp tongues from the media.

I'm referring to them being open about her needing to retire and the uncomfortable and awkward that she's putting everyone in by not doing so.

There's no sharp tongues about it.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to see someone having a mental health breakdown publicly and that's where things are headed as she's treating it as mental health session when the media, the fans nor her opponents are equipped to handle it.

Someone needs to since it's obviously that her circle isn't going to.

I don't feel uncomfortable. If anyone does they are free to tune her out or turn off the TV.

She needs help. That help may need her to retire. It may get her to the point that she is healthy enough to finish out her tennis career. I don't think any of us or the media are knowledgeable enough to make that call.

Her inner circle (if she has any) are not helping. They need to get her help. And whatever demons she is facing don't go away if she stops doing press conferences or if she just retires.

Or she could just retire instead of putting everyone including the media and her opponents in an awkward and uncomfortable situation.

She's doing a disservice to everyone around her and it's not mean to say it.

If her inner circle isn't going to call it out, then someone else should.

We've had multiple threads about this over the years. It's clear she wants all the perks of being a pro tennis player (money, fame, access) without wanting to deal with the rest of it. That's just not how professional sports works though. They say she's made 50+ million a year over the last couple years, she should have enough to just walk away if it's all too much for her

She has some real mental problems it ain't just this loss. She has a real weak mindset and seems prone to any kind of outside pressure, let alone whatever she has going on in her head.

This kind of mentality can't last long in sports let alone individual sports where you can't really feed off others.

She also doesn't seem like she's enjoying the sport. Might be best for her life to re-evaluate her life/career.

I don't even know if she "wants" the perks. She genuinely seems like a good woman and human being who is just not built to withstand mental grind and outside noise as a pro athlete with a lot of eyes on her.

Most athletes of her stature develop supreme confidence and belief in themselves even if they forego discipline, work ethics and so forth.

I know a lot of people who get depressed easily lack the kind of anger to get out of it, and it spirals them down.

Most athletes have that kind of "anger" to kind of snap out of it, even if it's as simple as "I'm better than this bytch".

Well there has to be something she still wants, maybe it's just the money, for her to continue with this shyt. Unless she's just trying to appease others, but if it's that she got more then enough money to tell them to fukk off
