I can't disagree with the video in the OP. I liked Naruto well enough in the first part, but revealing that Naruto was hero of prophecy and ninja royalty all along fundamentally screwed up his character.
On top of that, they got too carried away with all of the Uchiha drama, OP bloodlines and ridiculous abilities. All of the strategy and skill from the earlier fights disappeared.

Rock Lee should have been the main character lowkey. The OP's video is spot-on about Lee being the character that best exemplifies the message they were trying to teach in the first part.

^ It's a shame that Naruto fell off so hard, because that Lee vs Gaara fight was and will ALWAYS BE some GOAT-tier, classic stuff. Lee is that dude. :banderas:

But still... Fullmetal Alchemist, Jojo's, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ >

I watched this earlier and I can't disagree with too much of what he said :yeshrug:. Naruto had access to power that was unavailable to anybody no matter how much they trained.

Not watching a 40min video but just off the OP, I agree and have spoken about a few times. Kishimoto fukked the series and story. Part 2 was mostly trash with Sasuke/Itachi and Naruto/Pain being the highlight. The pain fight also highlights just how main character drivel Naruto spews with no answers and the worst TnJ that the show had.

Like breh said, all the technique and punch for punch breakdowns that drew me to the show in Part I all but disappeared in Part 2 except for the Sasuke fights. The Kage summit was the cliff the show stepped off of and made it damn near unbearable even when it wasnt a constant vomit of filler. I know its mostly about naruto's character that the video is supposed to be about and not really the show but Naruto really is an insufferable ass nikka. :scust:

The series definitely painted itself into the Dragon Ball Z corner by moving away from combat that centered around strategy and going the "power level" route.
The series is full of inexcusable plot holes as well.
One of my biggest gripes as a fan is their choice to introduce reincarnation to the series. Just like with DBZ, the stakes are none existent when you know that a person can easily be brought back to life. Naruto shined in the original series back when moments like watching the hokage die actually bared weight.
I also can't stand how the writers had no problem permanently killing off the heroes but did everything possible to keep the villains alive.
Orochimaru, while being one of my favorite characters in both series, should have never gotten back the use of his arms, and should have never been able to survive by jumping from host to host like a parasite.
The Uchiha story also became incredibly corny. They started out very much like the Saiyans; a tribe focused on honor and pride, but somewhere down the line they turned the Uchiha's into whiney little emo losers that couldn't handle hardship like the rest of the normal functioning world.
I could go on all day about the things they did wrong with this series; mainly because I love so much about it.
