I was just listening to this song. This song is amazing and brilliant because Nas found his old book of rhymes and he wanted to bring them to the studio to ry them out in a song, put them it together....f*cking genius if you asked me.

This is why Nas is a great musician for real.

The last verse just had me :wow: He was speaking about how he jealous of his own daughter.

My people be projects or jail
never harvard or yale

that song was DEEP

Yep....crazy when I watched Nas' "Time Is Illmatic" documentary. His pop has a bunch of books education/history/africa, etc and he left his own kids and Nas read these books where pop brought/bought them. Once, Nas dropped out of high school and lived a hood life and his pop supported them while his family didn't like that. This is telling you how pretty smart and genius Nas as a child?...

I'm jealous of you how come you so beautiful?
Smelling fresh youthful intelligent while I'm stressin' and shyt
Aiyo I envy you 'cause all you do is smile and things come your way
Such a innocent child is what some say
I get upset 'cause I just want to be treated the way you are
Like a star not a worry in this world thus far
But wait a minute we both need ya mother's attention
I must be crazy jealous of my own baby infant

U fukking crazy.

That's classic alchemist:noah:

it's not. It's just a Nas track on a known album. and as the years have gone by, and the Alc dikkridery has reached breaking point, now you get people saying it was a superb beat.

It never was. I was in college when Book of Rhymes came out. Nobody said "yo that beat is nuts." If anything, "Tick Tock" (a song I'm not a big fan of and came out a lil while later) was the beat a couple of heads really liked around my way. That's classic Alc.

though, if you ask me, Alc's best ever beat. It certainly KILLS the one in this thread
