it ain’t wack but it’s not how I want the album to sound at all. even preme knows it And understands it. We shall see
I just gave it a fresh listen. I'm not a music guy, I don't know the terms, but it seems like it's missing a layer or something. It felt like the skeleton of a dope song but never quite got there.

Anyway, 5 days and 3 hours away...not that I'm counting.

Heh. We'd miss out on so many classic albums if we just went by perceived demand.

Not demand because of popularity.

I just don’t think Nas would make better music with Madlib. He wants to work with Primo for a reason. More than sure that if he felt he'd make classics with other people, he'd be doing albums with them too. Madlib just ain't a viable choice.

lol... Hit Boy hate is real. Verses were good but the flow was slightly off and the beat has no knock at all.

It's not supposed to knock.

We can't take an unreleased demo and use that as an example of how an album would or wouldn't sound.

I don't think Madlib is on Nas' radar but Madvillainy, Bandana, and Pinata are 3 of my favorite produced albums ever. If him and Nas linked the it would no doubt be one of his best albums.

To my knowledge Nas’s work with Madlib was for his possible inclusion on Black Star’s No Fear of Time. He did 2-3 verses for different songs and when he didn’t end up on the album for whatever reason he repurposed the verses for songs on Kings Disease 1.

I always felt, after hearing the leaks that the verses were better served on Kings Disease. Madlib is dope but Madlib is notoriously absent-minded and has issues with remembering the samples he uses, and that very issue delayed the Black Star album by at least a year because he had to go back and research the records he sampled. Nas ain’t going for none of that bullshyt, especially at this point in his career.

Damn... always thought the artists moaning about the fans was some sour puss shyt cause theyre fickle, dont buy the albums, dont really show love at concerts etc was more of an excuse for falling off, creative decline

But reading through the last FEW pages and seeing all these desires for Nas to work with anybody else except the producers he actually works with is some mindfukk shyt

The main reason he is putting out an album with Premier is his HISTORICAL MUSICAL rapport with him, they created MONUMENTAL HIP HOP together

He does not have this track record with anybody else not Pete Rock, not Alchemist, not Madlib, not Dr.Dre, not RZA, not QTip, not Hit boy, not Kanye, not nothing...

Fans are fukking crazy man...

Having said all that hope NaS goes deeper in his subject matter bag than the qb veteran stories from the hitboy run, would love something similar to the I Am, Stillmatic, God's son times

Personally will try to enjoy THIS ONE and not worry about the next next imaginary album...

This is exactly what a Nas thread looks like.
Never-ending goalpost moving.
Exhausting..

I'm a grown ass married man with children.
I don't have any business with violence.
But gotdamn you're pushing it
That mix is hard tho. He ain't lying bout that.

theres not enough press and no single for 6 days out.....it better start coming major pause
Man, Nas doesn’t care about all that man, lol. He’s Nas, this whole campaign has been promo, anybody into “real” hip hop, whatever that means, is fully aware and has been waiting for Nas’s joint. Whoever else? Fukk em, lol. Man is 52 years old, and playing with 9-figures, he doesn’t need to convince and try to reach a new fan or sumn to buy his shhit.

Sheesh...a lot of complaining in here. Y'all can hate Hit Boy all you want, but he helped Nas put out some of his best work in years and helped him win a Grammy.

I'll come back once the album drops.

Nas don't need to "work" with anyone besides the man he's working with RIGHT NOW. All this "he should work with this producer" or "that producer" are just a bunch of nerds just yapping at this point, SHUT THE F UP! jesus F*CKIN CHRIST we got the HOLY GRAIL PRODUCER of all the producers on our "producer wishlist" and we got people still COMPLAINING and asking to do other sh THAT NOBODY ASK FOR or isn't even IN DEMAND :snoop:

That's why it's hard to be a Nas stan at times, yall mfs make it hard for the rest of us with real sense and logic :russ:

Like dunnies, us real ones gave our whole lives just to witness this MAGIC happen finally. Some of us aren't even alive to have the privilege to finally HEAR this project (got homeboys that we're Nas fans who wanted a preemo project that passed away) so miss me with all the other noise! 5 days left, we're gonna lock in and enjoy this sh*t the moment it drops, and YES we're expecting a lot of B*tcha*sness from some of you cuz it wouldn't be the coli without mfs crying about something :russ:

Yep. I was sick when he chose to do an joint album with Damian Marley instead of Az and it turned out to be a great idea. Same thing with Hit Boy. I was sceptic at first and they knocked it out of the park. As an artist you don't always need to listen to the fans.

He did the album with Primo as a gift to us but he did it now because he felt it and didn't want to forced it. It also help that he did it now that he's independent on his own label where he don't have the pressure of releasing a single, worry about the promo and having a deadline, that's why they took their time with it

If Nas would have listen to the fans. Iww would have not exist the way it is and his carreer would have be way different. Not necessarily for the best
