My first reaction was kinda shock... I didn't think Nas had it in him to be so vulgar and disrespectful...

Then I realized that Nas is the kinda n1gga you never want to get in a snap battle with...You might be sitting there just thinking you cool but the whole time he's looking at all the flaws in your face, teeth, voice, character and body language thinking about how much you disgust him...

The classic Virgo :ohhh:

I remember it was the big Christmas party of freshmen year in college before everyone headed off to break and I was meeting up with my brehs at one of our friends' place before we hit the spot and he had Ether on deck cause it was just recorded off the radio. Everyone was like :ohhh::leon::obama:

couple of people tried to play it off cause it may not hit you off like Takeover but the energy surrounding the record on the radio that winter helped it a lot (The fact that they were people debating it and Fat Joe and Kay Slay were riding it hard and there was talk of it getting blasted the same night at NYC clubs like the tunnel or some spot gave it that energy. Plus that same weekend I think the Hip Hop shows started leaking the OTHER tracks off Stillmatic and hearing Ether with You're the Man, One Mic, 2nd Childhood and Destroy and Rebuild had me like :whoo: he's fukking back :merchant:. Even that Rule shyt to just comment on 9/11 and world politics:gladbron:)

Honestly the flaws in the record like the beat and Nas all over the place kinda made it more grimy and appealable to late 90s/early 2000s New York. It was such an unpolished record but the right record.

And it was kinda same thing 10 months later when Bonnie and Clyde 03 and Made You Look debuted the same weekend on all the Rap shows. Then it just felt it wasnt a question

Good times :whew:

:wow:

I have been listening to rap battles for 30 years. Never have I ever heard a blade that but as deep.

Ether still burns.
