to come together in a time of crisis like we have in the community today and make a Self Destruction, We are the World, etc. type of song.

Go on and say it's not their role, or what good would it do. The reality is, with all of the money, resources and impact they have, this should be paramount on their agenda.

Anyone of them could have been Brown, Garner, Martin.

Add c00nye to that damn list too!

A genre rooted in inward conflict and competition will have difficulty coming together in such a way

I get that...but it was rooted in it in the late 80's as well. Which is why I brought up "self destruction" as a reference point. There's something different about how the black community is handling socio-economic issues. Ironically, that difference doesn't seem better which is sad because we seemingly have more resources and access than ever before.

Drake aint one of us breh....and him being mixed aint got shyt to do with us. Hes a jew who came up in privilege, and is only involved in hip hop for $$$$$, so dont expect him for one sec to give a fukk about black issues:shaq2:

I appreciate your point of view and understand where you're coming from OP but "We are the world" and "Self destruction" didn't change anything in the grand scheme of things...gun violence is still here...hunger and poverty are still here....a pro black or ultra conscious collaboration song featuring nas, jay ,drake and kendrick is not going to stop police brutality and murder...drake did a song with snoop about gun violence...you think that song had any impact or is currently on a drake fans Playlist? I doubt it. Im not saying you're wrong I just don't see it being effective....its gonna take something bigger than a rap song....its gonna take a movement that doesn't waver and doesn't compromise with rap as a factor not the main driving force...but then again....i could be wrong...
