If Life As Good had multiple songs as wack and lyrically lazy as Tom Ford, La Familia, Part 2, etc. ..Nas would still be getting crucified for it...he's held to higher standard than Jay for whatever reason...like dead ass serious, if La Familia was a song word for word the same on Life as Good, muh'fukkas would be carrying on like it was the worst track ever created

Life is Good by a landslide...they're not in the same league as bodies of work...one of Nas' best versus one of Jay's worst

Queens Story>>>>> Picasso Baby.

I compared these two tracks because in one hand you got NaS keeping it street and telling a story about street legends from the borough of Queens.

While Jay Z spittin and giving props to Picasso, Rothko, Jeff Koons, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhols, and whatever around a bunch of weirdos he feels comfortable with that I want to rob

You're speaking from the perspective of a self righteous Nas Internet fan though. Joints likes Tom Ford and La Familia aren't intended to be "lyrical" records. They're joints for the club and radio and that's the context in which they should be judged. Nas's Made You Look is the same kind of record. Nas clearly dumbs down on the record because the focus is on the track, it's a club/party record. The self righteousness of Nas's fan base hurts him it doesn't help. Y'all handcuff dude with all that high horse shyt. You're going to hear that Tom Ford shyt everywhere, Nas could damn sure use a record like that.
