To think Nas was only maybe 30 years older when he recorded this, but you understand ta 30 how you really feel about your life, your old neighborhoods, your friends, it's a brilliant song.

I have a strong memory of listening to this and 'In Search Of' at the same time cos I got them for Xmas.

I think Lost Tapes is probably Nas' darkest record, hes spitting as hard as his first 2 albums but its much more breaking down life and the human condition. There's no pop songs or gangsta songs, which is probably why the label held them back.
