Great analogy!
But i suggest the beat is nice but Nas' testiment of greatness is how he elevates the production with his flow, delivery and lyricism.

The other 2 versions were as nice or nicer!
The album released version contains the same verse he spits on the 3rd version!
I recall the part 2 was brilliant but it didn't quite have that phenomen kick he unleashed in the other versions.
I only heard the third and fourth version maybe 4 times each as i didn't own these copies!
