for me nas is just more complete overall and thus releases a better product. sorry but while nas released the acclaimed life is good in 2012, lupe in the same year released f&l 2.

And I see you didnt mention shyt like Strange Fruition and Freedom aint Free... the difference isnt in Lupe, its nikkaz have become lazier and stupider. You just seein what you want to see instead of whats actually there.

In other words naS doesnt have shyt like "Failure" in his entire catalog. using your brand of reasoning I could just say Lu got his style from Spice 1. naS stans, I tell you, not a single thought ever enters their or comes out of their "brains".
And to be really real, theres more Jay Z in his style with lyricism and double/triple entendres, theres more Twista in his style with ability to rhyme... maybe a little naS when he does smart dumb shyt (which isnt that often... naS always on some smart dumb nikka shyt).

Both are elite lyricists but nas is far more digestible and earned his position with his music connecting with the culture as a whole. Lupe kind of went pretty abstract after his first two albums and now he's not as relatable and or his lyrics just go over people's head. However what I won't do is try and pretend like some people in here that he's not elite. He can craft songs I'd say on the same level as nas there just far and few inbetween because his method for writing songs is just different but he's clearly capable of doing everything an elite lyricists is supposed to and at some point in time he's displayed it.
