"You Owe Me" was always dope to me. Certain type of dudes act like anything about loving a girl or partying is automatically corny, lol, I don't subscribe to that and never did. Unfortunately though, the 5 joints already posted and this joint are the only shyts on the whole album I like and revisit. This rest is ehh at best, imo.

When it was released, they were comparing it to his first 3 albums... somehow its just been repeated over and over thats his worst album when thats total bullshytt. I listen to this album a ton to this day. shyt bang

Tell you how bullshyt that opinion is.. a young, white album reviewer who said he started listening to Nas on Hip hop is dead ranked his albums said its often stated that Nastradamus is his worst album and ranked it last just because...smh

if that aint the most get wit shyt Ive ever heard..smh

No matter how we slice the pie, Nastradamus will ALWAYS be near the bottom of Nas's catalog. Which Nas albums are we really below Nastradamus? Nasir? Street's Disciple? Hip Hop Is Dead? I personally feel all three are better than Nastradamus. Not necessarily a bad thing. In 1999, Nas had four albums. Nastradamus was definitely going down as his worst. He's released music since that album that is far more focused, consistent, and creative through and through and I actually like "You Owe Me".

SINY!!
I still bump Family regularly..........I was thinking about that track while reading the DMX/Grease album thread. Family is one of the better Grease productions created.

Back to the topic, It was a solid album and didnt deserve the hate it got. I think we also gotta consider what was happening in music and around the world during that time. Sometimes those things do influence the way we view an album. To me Streets Disciple is his weakest album....and thats simply because of all the filler. Wittle that album down to 1 CD and I might feel differently about it.
