Naijiel Hale, the son of late singer Nate Dogg, has been dismissed from the Washington football team for a disciplinary matter, the team announced on Friday.

In his freshman year with the Huskies, the four-star recruit played in all 14 games and earned some time in the starting lineup when Marcus Peters was dismissed from the team during the season. He finished the year with 14 tackles and two passes defended.

Hale confirmed the news with posts on Twitter and Instagram, although he has since deleted the posts. Hale's Instagram post thanked the coaches for his opportunity (via Seattle Times):

"I would like to announce that I will be taking my football career elsewhere and thank the university of Washington for everything they've taught me," Hale wrote. "I Thank you coach Lake and Coach Peterson (sic) for being there for me and understanding everything that I go through. Nobody in this world will understand my life yet I'm still moving forward. I'm so thankful to play and start many games as a True Freshmen in the PAC-12 and those memories will stick with me forever. New chapter ahead.... Ride with me."

Hale was expected to compete for a starting role in 2015, but the Huskies will now likely rely on sophomores Darren Gardenhire and Sidney Jones. Hale switched to Washington after originally committing to Arizona.

We're gonna be shyt regardless :yeshrug: Let Chris cultivate his culture or whatever. Nate Dogg's son obviously wasn't regulating enough.

If this constant cutting doesn't translate into wins in 2-3 years, then hit me with the :umad: breh.
