Dr. Jerome lived in DRcongo and actually left because his life was threatened. He was kidnapped, people wanted to kill him because he found out that the plant artemisia (that also grows in DRCongo) completely cured malaria with no coming back. The Chinese and Indians, Path who are big sellers of medicine and vaccines in DRcongo did not like the idea that people would not come to buy any malaria medicine since malaria is common in DRcongo. They probably paid some Congolese who probably also had interests in their companies. So he ran because he was scared of his life. WHO is also against him.The new elected president asked him to come back and work with the other Congolese scientists. True he did not even have a Congolese passport because the old regime did not want to issue him one. Now he is back in DRcongo. What was suppose to be Congolese cure is now a Malgache cure. But it's all good, its still africs winning. Oh by the way, he did his research of artemedia with the help of a French woman who actually give the funds for hims to be able to write the protocol.
