Spoiler alert: it’s not working
:mjlol:

And this is the REALITY

Since 1988. Damn!
:francis:

This is what happens when the Finals feature an MVP caliber flopper (and scorer, but the flopping is generational and a real reason people are tuning out) and a great closer with a meh personality as the stars.. with largely unremarkable supporting casts.

Some solid basketball skills sure.. but that’s a given considering it’s the NBA…

Small market teams, the average white dude from larger markets aren't going to tune in b/c their local team isn't involved

Younger, less established, non-white stars, which won't draw in the middle aged white guy viewer like a Jokic, Luka, or more established stars/superstars like Steph, Giannis, Bron.

One of these teams will be winning their first championship, so there isn't the historic franchise with Championship-pedigree involved (i.e. Boston)

To casuals, Haliburton might as well be a rookie and SGA a 2nd or 3rd year player they just discovered this season. There's no ultra-athlete (Bron, Giannis) or guy who will have ridiculous stats (Jokic) to draw in casuals. SGA game is more methodical than jaw dropping, his stats are great but they're not some 45/20/20 type of jokic stats. HIs game isn't super flashy (steph) and he's not some crazy athlete who's going to dunk of 5 ppl (Ja, Ant, Giannis).

Everyone knew G2 would be a 20 point L for Pacers, so I'd expect G2 to have bad viewership too.
