The flow of the game will be goin great. It's a back and forth game. Teams are not letting one another go on any type of run. Then, all of a sudden, the point guard will dribble to the front court towards the sideline and point to the ground so the ref would call timeout.

I be like "the game was flowin so well":mindblown:

I laugh when after the fact, the team that called the timeout gets outscored like 10-4 after the timeout:umad:

Stop fukkin up the flow of the game, dumb ass coaches:ufdup:

I could be wrong, but isn't it mandatory that they take them within a specific time period?

The NBA has too many timeouts period.

Every 4th quarter, the final 5 minutes last half an hour because each coach has like 4 timeouts at their disposal.

Basically. There are scheduled timeouts for every 3 minutes of play or something like that. The play is going to stop soon anyway so a lot of the times the coaches will just burn the timeout themselves so they can call their own play out of the timeout. If they wait for the official timeout, it might come when the other team has the ball.
