I’m sure they will expand. Right now they have all the finals games from 2000-2022 on the NBA app. Just expanding to add classic playoff games can’t be too much to ask.

It was Reddit. They’re too popular—not to mention the NBA has they’re own account on Reddit—to be openly talking (and posting) accounts that post games.

What really sucks is that if the league would just make they’re own streaming service, a la the wwe network, I would have no problem paying for it. Instead games that were lost to the general public until recently, will just sit in some room in Secaucus.

Luckily for me, I’ve found the two Bulls/Knicks games that I’d been meaning to watch, so I definitely need to get on those.

Outside of that, I’m fortunate that I’ve been in the process of digitizing all my taped vhs stuff. I just watched game 6 of the 93 Finals, and then the Law and Order episode that followed after the game. :wow:

That’s what I liked most. It was cool to be transported back to that moment in time. Watching old CBS games and seeing a young :wow: interviewing people on the sidelines and other random things like that.
True. You get so much more context when you get the full broadcast.

Watched Lakers/Bulls game 1 and just hearing Bob Costas speak about Magic going for ring #6, being 2nd in mvp voting… snippets of the Magic interview during game breaks talkin bout the rocky 1-4 start to the season and his doubts of the new look Lakers (no Kareem, Woolridge, Cooper, etc).

Hearing commentary about how Perkins beasted towards the end of the Portland series, how the Lakers style was to use the entire shot clock to run their offense, and them having a better record when Magic facilitated rather than scored a buncha points… them saying LAL was one of the rare teams with 3-4+ guys who could post-up.

A whooooole lot to process.

The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
I saw a lot of comments from younger viewers on those videos who were shocked at how much better and intense the NBA was back then. It fukks up the narrative they're trying to push about how the game has never been better.

Meanwhile the NFL has a dedicated throwback channel that includes full games and still let's other channels upload full broadcasts.

Let some of these fools on the coli tell it tho the NBA doesn’t need to make any improvements it’s totally fine as it is…:skip:

NBA is missing out they need a NFL films like brand. Remaster all the classic games and put them on NBA tv.

I wouldn't even remaster it, or at least have the un-remastered versions available too. It's part of the charm of watching old games.

Anyways yeah NBA really should do something around its history. They don't understand that this is also what can lead some fans to be even more fans of the game. There's a whole history that should be celebrated.

They need visionaries like the Sabols (RIP). Those dudes had me feeling like Lombardis Packers were the Ottoman Empire as a shorty with that production.

Had me feeling like the Raiders were the Mongol hoards of Genghis Khan. The NBA doesn’t play up its history at all compared to the NFL.

This is one of my biggest issues with the NBA. They do an absolutely terrible job of celebrating history or playing up the prestige of the game. It’s about who the next Jordan is, rings and MVPs are just the decoratives needed to begin your next Jordan argument. Because, the NBA didn’t exist before Michael Jordan….:skip:
