We're on the eve of the NBA draft and everybody is hopeful about their team's future. Pick your 3 favorite draft years of your favorite team since you started watching them.

My Squad: The Nuggets.

1991: Mt. Mutumbo at #4. Old Sonics fans respect this. :heh: :takedat:

2003: Melo at #3--would've had Darko had the Pistons been smart. :wow: Took us to the playoffs every year he was here. Should've won the championship in 2009--that was your fukking time, Melo!! :damn:

2011: Kenneth "Manimal" Faired. Top 5 player from last year's draft and we got him at #22. We got a beast at the 4 for years to come. :win:

My Squad: The San Antonio Spurs

*I would say David Robinson but I was about 4 when he was drafted and wasn't a Spurs fan yet (became one at age 9).

1997: Tim Duncan.

We broke Boston's hearts with this one.

Top 10 player ever and arguably the best player post Jordan (I'm sure Kobe, LeBron and Shaq fans would disagree).

1999: Many Ginobili drafted 57th

Best Latino player of all-time and one of the most underrated players in NBA history.

2001: Tony Parker drafted 28th

3 rings, a top 5 PG for the majority of his career and still young (despite a lot of mileage) at age 30.

No question Duncan is one of the greats, but those Parker and Ginoboli (57th!) picks are why y'all have been contending for over a decade. :wow:

only time i ever was really excited was when the bullets drafted Sheed in 95

i liked the Rip pick in 99 too and was pissed when MJ traded him for Stack :snoop:

i was never really a Wall fan so that pick is :manny: to me

Im gonna love the pick thursday if they get Beal or MKG

Kobe of course. That's pretty much the only draft where I did the MJ fist pump. When you use to drafting in the 20s you don't get to celebrate much

2008 Derrick Rose - The MVP, Hometown kid who got drafted number 1 by us when when had like a 2% chance of winning the lotto. Not much needs to be said about him.

2002 Jay Williams - Yeah he only played one season for us, but had it not been for Yao Ming, he would've been the consensus #1 pick. He was POY in college, and a pretty dynamic PG...although he couldn't hit FTs. I was pretty hyped about him. He had a decent start to his rookie year...even dropped a triple double on Jason Kidd with like 24, 14 and 13. He got injured, and when he came back, Cartwright decided to bring him off the bench in favor of Jamal Crawford. He didn't wisen up to playing them both together until it was too late. They began winning games at the end of the season, but those wins decreased our chances at drafting LeBron. Then of course his career ended with the motorcycle accident.

2004 Ben Gordon - We didn't get a chance to draft a big man, but we still had Curry and Chandler, both of whom seemed to be coming into their own. Had we picked 1 or 2 and drafted Okafor or Howard, the Twin Tower experience was over in Chicago. However, like I said, both Curry and Chandler were showing much improvement. We end up drafting Gordon, though most mocks had us drafting Iguodala. I knew nothing about Iggy and the time, but I did know Gordon was a flat out scorer. He had a good rookie season, hitting game winners and clutch shots. He averaged 15 ppg in less than 30 mpg. He probably should've won ROY, but Okafor's 15 and 10 trumped Gordon's 15, despite the Bulls making the playoffs. He ended up with 6th Man of the year though....the only rookie to win that award.

Edit: I didn't put down MJ since I was only 2 when he got drafted
