http://awfulannouncing.com/nba/desp...-year-lowest-of-any-cavs-warriors-game-1.html

Despite overtime, ABC draws 12.3 overnight rating for Cavs-Warriors NBA Finals Game 1. Down slightly from 12.4 for Game 1 last year, which was Warriors win by 22 points. Game 1 in 2016 drew a 13.1 overnight, while the 2015 opener drew a 12.9 overnight.

2018 Finals — 12.3
2017 Finals — 12.4
2016 Finals — 13.1
2015 Finals — 12.9

And that is even with hella people turning in late after seeing how competitive it was after the initial finals fatigue of the same teams:wow:

People taking this cord cutting shyt to another level :leon:

NFL bout to be in panic mode come season opener....I don't even think the Cowboys can save them :wow:

Pray for CTEBall :lawd:

And 2017 was a big drop from 2016. What exactly is the point of this thread?

12.4-12.3 is not even a precipitous drop. There are many things that could factor into that from time slot, to programing on another network etc.

Why should this be a surprise

It's the 4th year in a row we're getting Cavs Warriors. And if you're following the season you know how badly Cleveland has struggled all year and the almost impossible challenge in GS. This is easily the least interesting Finals matchup since Lakers Magic or Heat Spurs 2014
