Are there any stories of high school players consistently dominating, or at least impressing, NBA players in multiple games, and then failing miserably at the NBA level? I'm just curious if it's a valid judge of future talent or we just constantly hear about the ones that worked out.

I know people tend to forget about Amare Stoudemire, but I'm sure he was capable of overpowering pro's in high school.I remember watching his first game in the pros.Preseason game vs the Bulls in Chicago.Fresh out of high school. The Bulls front court couldn't do anything with him.He was already out there running through veteran big men like a truck.

Bron was athletic but also had high hoops IQ. That's why he came in averaging 20 a game. You rarely get a 17 or 18 year old with ZERO pro experience that's just ready from jump.

I gotta assume it's just a confirmation bias lol; we only hear about the ones who succeed so we assume they all succeed. But there's gotta be guys who impressed pros but then didn't do shyt in the league or even make it, because there's been plenty of guys who dominated on the high school or college levels against guys who went on to be Hall of Famers, but never even made it to the league for whatever reason. Like, there's gotta be stories like this about Shea Cotton or Lenny Cooke, etc.
