NBA commissioner Adam Silver could reconsider the site of the 2017 All-Star Game after an anti-LGBT bill passes in North Carolina late Wednesday. The event was slated to be in Charlotte.

No equality, no basketball?

The NBA issued a statement Thursday against the new law in North Carolina barring transgender people from using bathrooms and locker rooms that do not match the gender of their birth certificate.

KING: N.C. PASSES THE 'MOST ANTI-LGBT BILL IN THE COUNTRY'

In the statement, the NBA hinted it could reconsider hosting All-Star Weekend in Charlotte in 2017.

"The NBA is dedicated to creating an inclusive enviornment for all who attend our games and events. We are deeply concerned that this discriminatory law runs counter to our guiding principles of equality and mutual respect and do not yet know what impact it will have on our ability to successfully host the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte."

KING: NORTH CAROLINA LGBT LAW MATTERS FOR EVERYONE

North Carolina passed the new state law — which also prohibits local governments from deciding on the issue themselves — and governor Pat McCrory signed the bill late Wednesday night.
