it seems to have opened the trade market when you trade a PICK more for 3 and D to me..why risk a superstar to have lesser chances?

How is it going to bolster the east ? The same teams in the east have been trash for two decades and obviously getting high draft picks hasn't helped much. If you can't scout, recognize and develop talent you're going to suck no matter what.
