I agree, and it ends up hurting teams in the end that should be in the lottery but squeak into the playoffs because they play in a weaker conference. The best thing that happened to the Pacers this year is missing the playoffs, they have a chance to pick up a player that could help them.


Just get rid of them and have the best 16 teams go, the product improves as a result that the teams that need the infusion of talent are most likely to get it.

The only exceptions are extremely young teams with their pieces set already, like the Bucks, Magic etc where everyone in their starting 5 is a future starter, but is just young.


But capped out veteran teams like the Nets?

They have to make sure everyone plays each other an equal amount of times.

You'd have a 58 game season with each team playing another 2x in the season. But it won't happen...
