I'd imagine a lot of older producers, especially east coast ones, aren't fukking with that shyt overall. The thing I disagree with is the point about drums and rhyming pockets. Sure a beat with drums is gonna result in the flow sounding a certain way...but you can say the same about a beat without drums. Finding the right pocket when rapping over a drumless beat isn't easy. When it's done very well, that shyt sounds impressive as fukk.

Yes. Though it does surprise me to see how many of the Stretch and Bobbito era rappers are still making a living in the music business.
Didn't expect him to still be at it in 2024.

I agree with Necro, drumless beats are mostly wack

I don't mind them as long as it's not the entire album and as long as they have some kind of groove to them, not just some boring 1 bar loop.
