Need a Home Laptop

My home computer finally took a dump. Decided Ima get a laptop instead of a regular one. Since I've been out of the loop for computer tech, I was wondering if there was anything I should know.

I figured I'll just go to Best Buy or Frys to buy one. Looking to spend under 3 bills for something basic. I want one with longevity and a reliable brand.

Not gonna game, stream or do any other power pusher. Not internet use, words and excel projects on occasion.

Under $300? It will be garbage.

$400 MINIMUM. Try to stretch to about $460 for that Acer with the 7200U and SSD found online.

Yeah its gonna be trash for 300 and under, spend a little more and cop a used old model Macbook off ebay or something

I'm not looking to do a lot with it. Just internet, some typing with Words, Excel projects occasionally.

It's mostly gonna be used for online use.

I have an ASUS i use for offline work. I think I paid a little over 300 for. It works well.

I think it was cheap cause it was an older model.

You may want to check the refurbished sections of the manufacturers' websites if you are going that cheap

300 can get you an ok laptop but 400 will get you a really nice one, even if it's refurbished you'll still have warranty.

Chromebook/HP Stream but like others have said stretch to 400 and you can get something with a i3/i5 and SSD drive which will last you a good few years
