How's Lenovo brand?

I've been searching for something with at least 64 gigs of storage. The laptops I've seen only have 32. I can deal with that much, if necessary.

Why the hell do some not have CD drives? I'd like to find one with a burner.

Man... They barely make laptops with a CDburner anymore...

People don't burn CD's anymore....

For $300 and a CD burner, you might as well look for laptops 5 years+ old.

Lenovo is great

Aim for at LEAST 64GB to give a little breathing room.

Optical media is dead. If you really need a disc drive just buy an external drive.

I still use it. DVDs mostly. :ld:

Digital ain't my thing.
Cool... Goodluck on finding a newer one that has it and under 300$

Pretty much what everyone said on here is your best bet outside of a pawnshop or craigslist

I think you can buy an external usb burner though but not sure on how much they cost

$300 really ain't nothing for a laptop. I wish I knew this 4 years ago when I bought a cheap HP from Best Buy. shyt is mad slow, battery life straight trash and the fans sound like jet engines.

Is the MacBook Pro really one of the best laptops out there?

Honestly, OP for what you want a laptop for you should probably just go with the "new" affordable iPad. It cost $329 (less if you get student discount) and with that you have access to all of the productivity apps in the app store. Really your best bet if all you need it for is word, excel and the internet. I'm sure you could find an affordable bluetooth keyboard from Logitech and that should be good enough for your needs.

iPad 9.7-inch
