I hate to be part of the military, especially with the current regime and my moral philosophies which would be compromised. If I served, it would purely be out of self-interest though.

I'm 36. I'm aged out, but I've heard I can get waivers. Is that true?

I also had back surgery many years ago, but am always in better shape than anyone I'm around. Would I need a medical waiver for that, or should I just lie and never mention my previous injury to get in?
Wasn't u just calling people losers for waiting outside GameStop for their favorite video game?

Now u 36 considering military deployment with a bad back :martin:

In Maga military :martin:

U gonna be deployed somewhere your family doesn't even know about, getting called all kinds of slurs, being shot at by drones and needing a psychiatrist if u get back in 5 yrs

They gonna be playing GTA 6

Who's the real loser :mjlol:

As an older dude you’re not gonna like the military

Just being real with you. It’s a lot of kids, who are generally fukn idiots and those are gonna be your peers for the foreseeable future

Getting bosses around by a NCO who is a decade younger than you, might rub people the wrong way as well

If you can, I’d look into the Guard or Reserves. You can still get some knowledge, go through the military thing, still get paid, have the potential for benefits signing a 6/2 and keep it moving.

Just my opinion.

My family is filled with prior service including myself. Lots of NCO’s (Army, Navy, Marines) and some Officers (Army my sister and Brother in Law)

The Truth
What OP could do is try Merchant Marines, if he want the Navy life that bad.

It was one of my backup plans getting out, because I actually liked being deployed.

Depending on his career field, there will be other things required to do that is outside of the norms but it’s nothing like joining except the ship part imo.

And I actually thought about coming back as a CWO in the reserves and I’m older than op.

But I already have experience. It won’t be anything new even compared to what I do now. OP will be learning a whole new world at 36-37. His peers will be nikkas 17-22 on average. I seen a guy come in at 32 when I joined, so not impossible.

He was coming in as a preacher though. Some people, like doctors, do join late after school/college to get extra pay and better experience. They are usually officers immediately though, and don’t always play by regular military rules.

Edit: Also, I think there is a civilian service or something similar. No idea how it works though

Are you going enlisted? If so you’re not getting in.

If you have a background in medicine, nurse, medical doctor social work you can easily join and become an officer with a higher chance of getting a waiver.

Right now idk what’s going on because recruiters are being heavily pushed to recruit more while they’re also talking about active duty force reductions.

Air Force doesn't really appeal to me, but they have the highest age allowed I think. I'd prefer the army or even USMC (yes, lots of physics grunt work which I like though). Maybe this is just my perception?
Im a marine. If you have back issues you don’t need to join the marines of all people Whether you a grunt or not. Doesn’t matter your MOS…You still gonna PT every day and a lot of running is with serious weight on your back. A lot of hikes for miles with all your gear in your pack. Pt where you gotta pick a lot of heavy shyt up. They don’t want to hear your back hurting. It don’t matter how cool it sound. You will be miserable if your body already got issues. You gotta make 3 months boot camp and go to infantry school / mos school before you even hit the fleet. That’s already a lot of strain on your body.

And will definitely not let you in if you have any physical ailments. There is no exemption to that because you have to pass the physical. So you would have to lie . Your recruiter will tell you they can’t help you if you got body problems . They reject people for petty shyt like tattoos all the time (even though I got a waiver ) Most marines leave with back and shoulder issues. Me and all my marines got it. Plus you exceed the age limit . I know you can try to get age waivers. But the marines are not as lenient when it comes to that. If you 36 you should really do the Air Force. Marine corps doesn’t have as much to offer you at your age in comparison to Air Force or navy or army or navy . They all have mos that better translate to civilian jobs. Marines got them too, but it’s a lot more limited than the other branches. And if you talking enlisted .. straight up they gonna tell you No way at 36

Air Force is dope and all my Air Force homies was hella cool and they have a shyt load more freedom. You really wanna join the marines at 36 and have drill instructors in your face calling you a bytch and all that. Even when you 10 years deep, you gotta PT as long as you got on a uniform. It’s really for younger people in regards to initially joining. Ain’t shytting on you homie, just be real with yourself. Pick something where you can commit too but have a lot of lateral movement and be treated a little more like what you used to. It’s hard taking that bullshyt from the marines when you really grown . Air Force has a lot more opportunities in different career fields and pt for them and all the non marine branches are slot less strenuous

this, plush benefits, pension, disability, and some protections; for instance if you are a in the reserve doing you one weekend a month and a regular job...but you want to make extra money or sick of dealing with your regular job...hope on acitve duty orders and you will be collecting your regular job lay and the active duty pay...also, your regular job cant fire and by law they have to keep your position. :sas1:

if you not doing shyt else with your life why not trey something to 100% benefit you.
Let's start with basic English because your whole reply is
