Hotels I usually will stay at the Monte Carlo or MGM Signature. Monte Carlo has a nice pool, rooms are cool, and its not expensive. It's at not at the very start of the strip but its in a good spot when you have to stumble back.
Since no one has told you places to eat yet...
Holsteins in the Cosmopolitan...its across the way from the shoe botique/hundreds store...they make burgers and alcoholic shakes, the pork belly taco appetizer is good.
The Pub inside of the Monte Carlo
2 for 1 well drinks during happy hour, 1 dollar sliders or wings, drinks are strong. Food is good. Ton of beer on tap and a bunch of tvs to watch sports.
Musashis...it is off the strip, near Hard Rock if you are over there, its like a Benihana style Japanese place where they cook in front of you. It is open until 3 am, food is really good, they tell a bunch of funny jokes/etc.
If you haven't had In N Out before, try it. Its a fast food spot thats on the westcoast. Go with a double double animal style. They also remodeled the Fat Burger there on the strip. Pinks Hot Dogs is at Planet Hollywood but I think its overrated.
The Wynn has the best buffet on the strip for breakfast/lunch, the Rio has the best seafood buffet. I prefer Treasure Islands buffet because its not expensive and the food is still good. Monte Carlo buffet is average.
