I know many variations of this thread get done from time to time, so I apologize for the redundancy...but I need to bring in some more income.

I'm not sure what I would sell, but I'm definitely not limiting myself. Wifey was telling me the make-up market is big...but I don't know much about make-up.

Any ideas?

I tried selling shyt but I saw Amazon was gonna take away 7 bucks. With shipping it was 3 plus buying the envelope. I wouldn't even break even. :beli:

:ohhh:

Damn...there's this spot around my way called Deals...I think they buy shyt that gets liquidated....mad cheap, i go there for my own home items. I was thinking of buying from them and Costco's and just selling shyt on Amazon.

If you sell on Amazon, you're not gonna make much selling stuff for under $10 (higher than that really, but that's kind of a baseline) because of Amazon's fees, unless you're selling A LOT.

True....I'm thinking of getting a seller's permit and just buying wholesale. Have you sold on Amazon?

Yeah, I've sold quite a bit of stuff recently. Mostly blu-rays and video games.

Say you list a movie for $10. Amazon gives you a $4 shipping credit, so whoever buys is paying $14, but you're not gonna see that extra $4 because Amazon's gonna take that back in fees. So you might get paid $9-10 from Amazon, but then you'll have to spend $.70 for a bubble envelope and another $1.60-2.00 for postage. I didn't know it until recently either, but Amazon monitors your seller account and if you don't use tracking numbers when you sell, they downgrade your account status (even though I never get tracking numbers when I order from third parties off Amazon myself :beli:).

I'm still allowed to sell, but I don't know if they'd deactivate my account eventually if I kept sending stuff without tracking numbers.

If you sell stuff that's fairly light for over $20, you get a pretty good bang for your buck, in my opinion. Amazon's fees are just brutal when you're selling cheaper stuff.

Sell on ebay, amazon is a pain in the ass and not worth the time. (I do ebay full time)

Find things to sell and have knowledge about, RESEARCH EVERYTHING before selling like price etc etc. You don't wanna buy shyt and be stuck with it.

Invest in a good printer, buy some self adhesive shipping labels, bubble mailers are cheap in bulk, and buy your boxes from walmart or buy them from local businesses CHEAP. Try to stay away from the USPS free boxes yes they are free but require priority shipping prices use them if you charge for shipping. Also cut down and modify boxes, USPS charges by weight and size. Everything I sell fits in bubble mailers and small boxes, shipping is like 1.93-2.07 a piece (goes by weight and first class)

Most importantly, invest in a good camera. Good pictures=more sales, and write good descriptions.

Wow...it's easy to move shyt on Ebay? The shipping out to different addresses is what kills me. Thanks btw.
