When you were in the red if you pos or neg repped somebody all they would get was those grey reps which meant nothing. They didn't add or take away rep. You aint too far in the red, you can get out

If you're in the red you get negged left and right because they know you can't neg back, once you're in the red you basically can't come out of it because of this

What this individual is complaining about is the reality that your rep system is being abused. I have had ninjas neg me with comments that read "jbc" or just because. If the individual here doesn't like you they go out their way to neg you just because they can. Even if you don't want to modify your rep system users should be able to report abuse if the individual doing the negging is simply being an a$$hole.
