this was right around the time I became infatuated with hip hop. I hated this song and video......back then I was rockin with Ultramagnetic MCs and NWA mostly. This cut was just weird to me. years later I guess its a cool song....she was definitely cute.

I definitely feel you on that. My situation was a little different though because I was listening to all kinds of music growing up and when we finally got video shows you barely saw black videos. By the time Neneh Cherry came around that shyt was tame to me lol. I really became a hiphop head in ‘88 even though I was listening t rap before. Big Daddy Kane/Rakim changed my life.
