Net neutrality, or the open internet, is the idea that everyone as a right to fair and unfettered access to the internet. Under former President Barack Obama, the Federal Communications Commission reclassified internet service providers under Title II of the Telecommunications Act, allowing them to regulate them as common carriers, like telephone networks.

Now, under a new administration and chairman, Ajit Pai, the FCC is planning to reverse Obama-era open internet policies.

Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, -0.65% Netflix Inc. NFLX, +0.85% Spotify AB, Pornhub, Yelp Inc. YELP, +3.03% and organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union and the Writers Guild of America will join forces to participate in a day of action on Wednesday defending net neutrality rules.

for the whole list.... The FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give giant cable companies control over the Internet

:scust:internet gon look like this if the government decides to ignore the protests.... yall ready?

The problem with the Internet is IT CANNOT BE GOVERNED and POLICED like real traffic. No matter what gov't regulations pass, the streets is gonna always be the streets, meaning there will always be hackers and cyber terrorist making apps and loopholes around regulations the gov't may set.

Breh, what is this? :dwillhuh:
They are gonna start selling you internet and racking up by making you pay for access.

It's important because the cable companies are limited as of right now on what they can charge and for what service.

Think about a day that the internet charges you based on usage... you exceed your limit it's plus 10$ like a phone bill. Or they block access to certain sites unless you pay for it. Or they slow your internet down and increase the price.

Lists goes on
