What a disappointment.:mjcry:

I was listening to satellite radio yesterday in the car and I heard 4, yes 4, songs in succession that all had that same DJ Mustard, 4-5 note arrangement and all sounded like extensions of the previous song.

I kept expecting to hear "Mustard on the beat" before every 1st verse.

Even the snap music, trap era had more variation than this. Even tho those beats were similar, they didnt sound like they all came from the same guy.

Far as what I heard,

Adrian Marcel - 2AM (remix)
2 Chainz and Jamie Foxx
2 Chainz and somone else (Teefli)?
and some other song I cant remember

And there's plenty more songs out there that sound like these.

I think hip hop becoming less regional based has hurt the music.

It created more variation and different sounds city to city. Now there is just one generic sound all across the game. But mainstream radio music has been repetitive for at least a decade. It's just the sounds and fads that change.

Rap is at it's lowest point in terms of diversity of music

a few months ago, my bul had some commercial mixtape playing out his car, and dam near that whole tape sounded like 1 long ass song.

and none of that chit was good either.

to his credit, i think that was his 1st time hearing it himself, cuz he wasnt jammin to that mess at all, and hes a commercial head. lol. this is why i test music at home before i play it in public.

You make a good point. But....nikkas complain about no diversity or originality, but then when someone posts music that's different, nikkas don't wanna give it a listen and trash it automatically. nikkas is lost on this site, smh.

it's not just hip hop, it's the whole mainstream music industry.

the decline in record sales caused the labels to sink and sell out to the corporate conglomerates (universal, warner, etc). so instead of local mom and pop shops that specialized in their own niche markets, now you have wal-mart and target type superstores churning out music like a factory and trying to appeal to mass demographics. dumbed down, watered down, and disposable.

that is why everything sounds like it comes off a conveyer belt now. it's fast food.

think about your favorite album from the 90's.

bet it didn't sound like it came off a conveyer belt.
