I didn't take it seriously, either. The one thing I learned from that election was to not underestimate how stupid and racist people can be.

I remember the day after, it was pandemonium. It wasn't raining, but it was cloudy most of the day so it was like some dark energy was in the air. There was shock, anger, disappointment. It really did feel like someone died, or we were all days away from dying. Trump winning had a good portion of the country in fear.

Wasn't this one of the reasons RBG didn't retire? She wanted to be there on inauguration day to see Hillary take the oath.

I was up till like 3 or 4 AM waiting for that fool to make his acceptance speech.

If that was the case Romney would have been president. Read the first half of Game Change. Hillary was arrogant, azy and very unlikeable.

Lowkey with how they acted after Trump won we shouldn’t have not expected more when Trump lost for decades we have talked about Gore giving up the presidency because he was being to nice following precedent. There literally were people trying to stop him from the first concession call to Bush and going to give the concession speech

i lived in Florida then. You are right. I KNEW it was serious. I assumed it was the Florida effect but I saw how cacs and a lot of Hispanics were struggling to keep their MAGA hats under wraps but they were so excited they would always slip up and gush over him.


Dems DRASTICALLY underestimated the Clinton hate. I was around in the 90’s listening to am talk radio. Rush Limbaugh birthed a generation of MAGA lovers.

Rush would ether the Clintons daily and he had a huge fan base. All of those old Rush skits and talking points came right back when Hillary ran and it was like Puff remixing a 80’s song. Trump lovers heard something similar from their past and the Clinton irrational hate was back

Living in Texas....they fukking LOVED Rush.

Bill Clinton got clowned on a lot but they knew he had charisma and swag to overcome a lot of mistakes. Hilary is smart like Bill but has NONE of his political skills. She's good once she's in office but you gotta campaign to get the top spot...and she was never good at that.

You listen to her talk and she just sounds like a lawyer. Most female politicians struggle with this because men have to mack on women.....women don't initiate with 99% of men. They don't learn how to charm so it's hard for them to appeal beyond just sounding smart and competent.

Trump was just the angry man child that represented all the frustration of middle America. He was the personification of their collective temper tantrum.
