Never Forget is a thread series where you and I revisit hits we may have placed in the attic of our minds. Today, JT Money f/Sole - "Who Dat?"
"B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"
Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #5
Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Peak: #2
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #1
Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 Singles Peak: #22
AFTERMATH:
- HIY YIY YIY YIY YIY YI YA
This was Da Turn Up before the game and at the pep rally. Should get more arena time now.
- KC was bumping this 'cause we finally had a nationwide rap hit. Kinda. We thought Sole' was gonna blow up...especially when "4, 5, 6" came out later that year with both of them again. Naw. Oh well.
- this was the first hit for Tricky Stewart, who had some MONSTERS after: "Case Of The Ex", "Umbrella", "Touch My Body", "Single Ladies", "Baby", damn near all of The Dream's catalogue, etc.
- On the rezeal, JT had one of the best comebacks during this run. A lot of folks thought he was new. Shame folk don't remember Poison Clan like that. This whole album slapped, doe.
