Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - revisit hits we may have stored in the attic of our minds. Today, Puff - "Satisfy You".

"B-B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"

Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #2
Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Peak: #1
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #1

AFTERMATH:

Gott diggity damn. This was the middle of the end for Puff as a lead artist.
Before this, we bore witness to the "PE 2000" video dance sequence.
Then this chit. The only reasons this wasn't clowned to DEATH is because of the sample,
and R-Uh sold this chit.

Then he sunk even deeper with "Best Friend". Yeesh.

Bad Boy better be glad Puff's album dropped around the same time as Black Rob's or this
coulda been disastrous. That album was such a wash it made him change his name.

I fukked with this heavily in middle school, used to watch this video before school on MTV Jams, in fall 99, this was always on, along with 'Until We Rich', and '4 Da Fam'. Still on my phone today. 'Forever' is actually a dope Bad Boy album, yes, the grandiosity and heavy handed desperately chasing 'I'll Be Missing You' was apparent in 'Best Friend', which I did a thread on, as one of the most absurd rap videos of all time...but 'Forever' overall had some great tracks...

The video also personified the late 90's excess, along with 'Hate Me Now', as well as Puff's spiraling out of control ego, as he beat Steve and pulled a pistol at Club NY the same year....All white minks and all that shyt lol

This is classic late 90's for the 30 year old crowd....this is out childhood classics.

Just listening to Puff rap is such a way to hear and see the 90's, as they existed for you.....despite their quality.....

That is a bad example of a dope track off 'Forever',

Do You Like It...Do You Want It dope verse by near prime 99 Jay
Is This The End Pt 2
Real nikkas classic Big verse, Puff talking extra greasy
Journey Through The Life classic all across
Reverse one of Shyne's intro's to the world
I Hear Voices ill beat and hook, Puff verse's are well done by Shyne or whomever

The Forever album actually had some Gems on it!

Those posse cuts we're as thoro as it could get, i mean Nas and Sigel on the same song with classic bars?? come on man, that alone :ahh:

Then "Reverse" with Shyne's intro to the world with Redman on the same joint ?? :noah:

ill LL Cool J sample on "Do you like it, Do you want it " :salute:

The song with Bizzy :leon:

this album gets hated on for all the wrong reasons, yeah there were some misses on here, but the :win: outweigh the :scusthov: ones

btw, any have that version of "i'll do this for you" with Ma$e on it??? You can hear the adlibs all over the song but there's a version with him on it.

Clean track...
It reached #2 tho? :wow:

Dont remember it being that big

Bruh...that's #2 on the Hot 100.

That means, of ALL THE SONGS THAT WAS OUT ON THE RADIO, this was #2 at some point. In 1999.
This chit was bigger than Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears and chit. These struggle raps.
"When it hurt, I ease the pain gurrrl".

This happened. We all saw it.
