Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - will reflect on songs that were
hits that people seem to have put in the attic. Today, we look at Rampage The Last Boy Scout, The
Lyrical Lieutenant - "Take It To The Streets".
"B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"
Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #34
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #5
What is the aftermath of this cut?
1. This cut did pretty well considering it came out in the genesis of the "shiny suit/Hype Williams" era.
2. This is a rebuttal to the "Busta Rhymes never did anything for his artists" claim.
This is Rampage's biggest hit, and one of three singles with videos his album got.
3. I remember this was one of two songs played on "In The House" when LL Cool J had
a party. The other Missy Elliott - "The Rain".
4. It is often overlooked because the B-side ("Wild 4 The Night")
was more...interesting.
